There are many things in this world that we can learn lessons from that some people may find shocking.
Take your average house cat for example. Believe it or not, this animal can teach us a thing or two about life.
You’re probably wondering how in the world a cat can teach you anything. The answer to this is quite simple when you know what perspective to look at things from.
For example, cats can easily adapt to new environments and situations. This seems to be an area where many people have difficulties. However, you can put a cat into a room that it has never been in before and before you know it they are on the highest ledge they can find and have claimed the room as their own.
Perhaps this has something to do with the fact that cats learn from their environments. Within five minutes in a room I can guarantee you that a cat will know the ins outs and all arounds. If we could apply this to our lives, there would be no stopping us from reaching the highest of successes.
On top of that, cats find a way to make seemingly impossible things happen. It doesn’t matter what kind of leaps and bounds a cat has to make. If they want something bad enough, they are going to get it one way or another.
As well, these fury little creatures are also very skilled when it comes to the amount of patience they are able to exhibit. They have the ability to wait for very long periods of time waiting for the perfect opportunity to carry out their actions.
All too often in life people find themselves saying, “Man, I should have waited a little longer.”
It’s funny but at times you can see the anxiousness and excitement in a cats face and you can tell it’s taking everything they have to hold themselves back. However, they learn from their previous experiences and understand that rushing things will not produce the results they desire.
This brings me to my next point. Cats are also very good at learning lessons from their mistakes. For example, if a cat comes up short on a jump trying to get to a high area they will try and find another way up instead of trying over and over again in the same place and expecting different results.
Learning from our mistakes is the only way to become successful. After all, how can we ever expect to improve any areas of our lives if we don’t do anything differently?
As you can see, there is a lot cats can teach us. It’s amazing how wherever we look or whatever we look at, there is a lesson to be learned in life, even from things we don’t think have anything to teach us!
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying you should mimic everything a cat does because that wouldn’t be in your best interests. However, there are skills that can be learned from this animal and applied to our lives.
