Spare time can be very beneficial for us if we use it to our advantage. However, a lot of people don’t spend their spare time doing constructive things. Rather, many people choose to spend their time watching TV or laying around doing nothing. Unfortunately, this usually doesn’t help people when it comes to the quality of their life. In fact, it likely holds them back.
With the world being such a busy place, in my opinion, it’s important to take full advantage of every spare moment we have. Instead of spending our free time doing mindless tasks, we should engage ourselves in activities that add to our skills. The more skilled we are; the better life tends to be.

Journaling can be a lot of fun and it can also be beneficial for our lives. A journal can serve as a reference to turn toward for tough decisions. On top of that, it can serve as a great outlet for pent up emotions that may be unhealthy for our bodies and minds.

If journaling isn’t really your thing, you may want to consider writing poetry. Poetry is another great tool for releasing emotions and thoughts in a positive manner. On top of that, writing poetry is also a great way to improve your vocabulary as well as your ability to structure things. As an added bonus, poetry writing can lead to a boost in confidence, especially if the poetry is recited in front of others.
