Perhaps you have a lot of leisure time coming up and aren’t quitter sure what to do with your time. If this is the case, I have a suggestion for you.

Instead of allowing yourself to lounge around the entire time and get nothing accomplished, why not put that time to good use? Don’t me wrong, no one is suggesting that you don’t relax with some of your spare time. However, spending every minute of it relaxed may not be beneficial.

There are many ways we can put spare time to good use. A perfect example would be developing ourselves into the type of person we would truly like to be.

Believe it or not, there are many personal development techniques that are simple to do and seem more like a fun activity that a personal developmental exercise.

1. Read

Reading is a great way of exercising the mind as well as developing ourselves. This becomes especially true when it comes to reading material that was created to inspire and motivate people. On top of all that, reading can also be a lot of fun!

2. Listen To Music

Believe it or not, music is a great personal development tool. A major part of personal development is learning to enjoy yourself. There are few things in this world that are more enjoyable than turning on some of your favorite tunes, cranking the volume up and dancing like there is no one else around.

3. Watch Movies

Watching movies is another great thing to do with your leisure time that will surely help you become the person you desire. However, try to avoid movies with negative messages as this will likely cause more harm than good.

Instead, try watching movies that focus on positive things or perhaps even motivational documentaries about people going through hard times and then coming out on top.

4. Set Some Goals

Goals are a great way to lay out a plan for the life we want and our spare time is the perfect opportunity to create them. The longer we have to think our goals through, the better our chances are that we will achieve them.

5. Visualization Exercises

These exercises are very powerful and quite simple to do. All it takes is the ability to close your eyes and let your imagination run wild. Imagine yourself being somewhere that makes you happy or doing something that you love. The positive effects of this exercise are hard to surpass.

6. Create A Vision Board

Creating a vision board is a fun activity that will allow you to tap in to your creative side. Instead of putting together a simple list like a person usually would with goals, vision boards usually consist of pictures, clippings and other artistic things that make creating them a lot of fun.

On top of that, a vision board does a great job of serving as a constant reminder of what exactly it is that you would like to achieve with your life.
