Unfortunately, many people are held back by their past. The decisions and mistakes that a person makes can haunt them for years. The worst part about it would be the fact that these decisions and mistakes can actually cause a person to lose the motivation needed to create a better future.

4. Determine What Direction You Want To Go
It’s kind of hard to move forward if you don’t know what direction you want to go. Simply stating that you want to move forward is not enough. Rather, you need a detailed plan that includes you values and beliefs, your goals in life and the plans that you will use to achieve these goals. Align all of these things together and you will create a life map for yourself that will keep you from getting lost along your journey.
5. Believe In Yourself And Your Capabilities
Some people allow their past mistakes and downfalls to damage their belief in themselves. Needless to say, it’s hard to move forward in life if you don’t believe in yourself and your capabilities. Find ways to increase your self-worth and self-esteem. Try setting small goals for yourself that are easy to achieve and can be done quickly. This will provide your belief in yourself with a little boost. The more you believe in yourself, the easier it is to move forward from the past.
