Turn Exercise Time Into PlaytimeIs it just me or does it seem like there is about a million and one things to do that are better than exercising.

We’ve all been there, staring at an exercise machine with no motivation or thinking about a morning jog and dreading every minute of it.

I can think of many times where I would have rather sat on the couch and had a warm cup of coffee rather than go for a morning walk. It’s not that I was lazy, it’s that I was exercising in the wrong way and with the wrong attitude.

Believe it or not, exercise can actually be quite fun. Learning this made exercising much more of an enjoyable task. In fact, I began to actually want to exercise and would get a bit upset if I missed one of my routines.

Perhaps the biggest factor in an exercise routine working is having the right routine. Instead of trying to follow an exercise routine that may have worked for someone else, try creating your own.

The beauty of creating your own routines is the fact that it allows you to incorporate things you find interesting and even fun at times. It only makes sense that it would be about a thousand times easier to do something you enjoy rather than something you can barely muster up the motivation to do.

In my opinion, there would be a lot more people who exercise on a regular basis if people got rid of the misconception that all types of exercise require strenuous and boring activities.

Mountain biking is a perfect example of a form of exercise that is fun and extremely effective. It is believed that this sport/exercise is great for the cardiovascular system and on top of that it works wonders with people’s cores. If you’re looking for six pack abs without having to lay on the ground doing endless crunches, mountain biking may be something you want to consider.

Understandably, some people may not be physically capable of comfortable enough with mountain biking for it to be a suitable option. Keep in mind, no one is suggesting that you literally bike down the side of the mountain, unless you are skilled enough to do so. The simple act of biking without adding the extremeness of going down a mountain is still a great form of exercise. However, trying to find a route with inclines and declines would be a good idea.

There are other options as well. Take children for example, it seems no matter how fast they go or how long their after burners are on, they never run out of gas. Believe it or not, playing with children is a great form of exercise. This is actually quite convenient for parents if you think about it as it rids the problem of not having enough time for both family and exercise.

If you are into dancing, you are in some serious luck! Dancing is an incredible form of exercise and entertainment for those who enjoy it. I know people who could dance the night away without feeling like five minutes have passed.

If this sounds like something you can relate to, you may want to consider checking into ballet. There are even dance classes that are designed to burn lots of calories and sculpt you into great shape. Zumba is an example of one of these classes. The best part is the fact that these types of classes can be found basically anywhere and they vary in price which makes them affordable for anyone.

There are many other examples of exercise that is actually fun, the list literally could go on and on. However, the best way to determine what would be most effective for you would be for you to think about what your interests are.

Once you determine what you enjoy doing, find a way to create an exercise routine out of it. Anything can be turned into an exercise, you just have to use a bit of creativity to make it happen.

You don’t have to feel as if a sculpted body will always be out of reach. No matter what your personal fitness goals are, they are attainable if you approach things the right way.

Think of the looks you will get and how good you will feel about yourself once you are able to find an exercise routine that you enjoy. The best part is the fact that you can have fun while improving your health and figure.

Exercise is important, but so is having fun. You can’t expect to have the motivation it requires to stay in shape if you don’t have fun while you do it.

So, what are you waiting for? Get out there and turn exercise time into playtime!
